Follow-up Team
The New Member Follow-Up Committee welcomes and encourages new members and provides information about the church and church membership.
Annual Reception
The New Member Follow-Up Committee also hosts an annual New Member Welcome Reception during the first quarter of the year.
Sunday School
New Member’s Sunday School class I
Our Students
- Those joining as restored or on Christian Experience and have been away from the church for 2 years or more. Also, for those that are newly baptized and are age 21 and older

Upon completion of this class students will attend New Member Sunday School class II
New Member’s Sunday School class II

- Those who joining as restored or on Christian Experience and have been away from the church for less than 2 years.
- Teacher: Rev. Gregory Daggett
Location: Junior Church building
Ministering to New Members
- Be Prayerful – pray for their spiritual success
- Be Patient – allow new members time to adjust to their new church home
- Be Informed – know the membership process
- Be Involved – acquaint yourself with your team’s New Member Follow-up Rep. and invite new members to team meetings and team events
Join Our Team
Individuals desiring to join the New Member’s Ministry Team may serve in the following capacity:
New Member Follow-Up Committee Representative - ( Serving Senior Church New Members) Please contact your team minister regarding this ministry position
Responsibilities:
- Welcomes new members assigned to your fellowship team and provides new member with basic fellowship team info
- Explains membership requirements and general church info
- Maintains contact with the new member for 90 days
Qualifications:
* Church membership - one year
* Must be an active member of a Fellowship Team
Church Membership
Adults and teenagers (ages 15 and above)
- Adults must complete four membership classes, be baptized and/or receive the right-hand of fellowship, which is the official acknowledgement of church membership.
- Membership classes are given after 11:00 o’clock Worship Service in the New Member’s Instruction Room located in the Junior Church building. No classes are given on the 4th Sunday of the month, as this is when the Fellowship Teams meet in the Senior Church Sanctuary.
Children (14 and under)
- Children must complete two membership classes, be baptized and/or receive the Right-hand of Fellowship.

Baptism and the Right-hand of Fellowship
Baptism and the Right-hand of Fellowship occur every 1st Sunday of every month in Allen Hall after the 11:00 o’clock Worship Service. Please contact the church office regarding the items needed for baptism (312-243-8047).
Fellowship in the Church
Fellowship Teams are small groups of brothers and sisters in Christ led by the ministers of the church. The purpose of Fellowship Team is to give church members an opportunity to form loving supportive relationships and work together in ministry. The teams meet in the sanctuary on the 4th Sunday of the month after the 11:00 o’clock Worship Service and on Wednesdays at the 7:00pm prayer meeting. Please contact your Fellowship Team minister for additional information regarding your team’s activities.
